Career Guidance Activities

Career Counselling is an information processing step that is required in order to step forward in the career. A student is provided with information on all aspects of his/ her career and is supported to advance and take steps to achieve the goals.

The importance of career counselling lies in the prevalent career unawareness. In the majority of cases, students select their career based on what their peers are selecting or what their parents think is right for them. This often leads to dissatisfaction in career and thus jobs for the students.

This is where the school becomes an active participant in being catalysts and guides in taking students towards making definite decisions as to what careers they have to choose. From the day they start their academic life in CJCR they are told about the career counsellor and how the students can have constant meetings with the counsellor to discuss the careers they are interested in and what they can do to achieve their career goals.

Other than the various workshops conducted, interested students were also provided with SAT Coaching every Tuesday and Friday. The school realises the need of a counsellor in shaping a student’s career choices into an option that they won’t regret. As the counsellor I provided students with active counselling time every day from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The career choices were made by the students and as the career counsellor all I did was guide them towards the ways to achieve them.
