RATIONALE - SCIENCE FORUM

This forum is instrumental in triggering the rational and scientific temperament of the student. The objective of Rationale is achieved through seminars, training programmes, debates and discussions followed by a visit to a botanical garden, museum, industry, Planetarium and research centres.

 

PARISARA - ECO CLUB

This is an effective organization for enlightening the students on various tropical issues like pollution, greenhouse - effect, deforestation, etc. Apart from generating awareness, the club is also actively involved in planting saplings during Vanamahotsava, organizing trekking for students to appreciate nature at its best, conducting seminars, collaborating with various governmental and nongovernmental organisations involved in protecting the ecosystem, etc. Parisara also implements waste management programmes like segregation of wastes as biodegradable and non-biodegradable. The primary focus of the club is to inculcate eco consciousness and to help grow into eco-friendly citizens, with the motto 'Green for all and all for green'.

 

COMMERCE ASSOCIATION

The Commerce Association is founded with a view to provide ample opportunities to commerce students for better interaction with practitioners and for development of various skills, thereby equipping them to face the challenges of B-schools. The association recognizes the contribution of each student in the successful implementation of its objectives. The representatives of various classes under the guidance of a Coordinator, undertake activities of the association. The Commerce wall magazine brought out biannually, highlights the association's activities and achievements. The association features educational trips such as industrial visits , inter-collegiate fests usually within the city limits, which allow students to go beyond the curriculum and develop practical knowledge.

 

EKaFrHin - LITERARY CLUB

It seeks to provide students with explicit guidance, through discussions, examples and exercises in reading well and using it in their writing. Through its varied activities, the club also aims at equipping the students with the method of writing on new topics on their own and stimulating them to write. The club aims to provide an arena for enhancing the students' skills in dramatics, debating, oratory, poster making, collage and in all other skills of fine arts.

 

MEDIA CLUB

The centrality of mass media in shaping the attitudes and perceptions of the public in general, and teenagers in particular, cannot be overemphasized. The need to alert them to the mechanics as well as to the nuances of engaging with various media is mandated by the current trend of the teenagers to turn to the screen - TV, cinema, computer, and cell phone - for information and values. While production and generation of meanings form the primary focus, the club also incorporates into its fold current debates on the role of media vis-a-vis the identity-formation process among teenagers and young adults.

Through examination of a variety of media products the club participates in transfiguring the students from being passive recipients into active readers of media-related messages. While the club primarily upholds the spirit of quizzing, the students are also guided through various competitions in honing their quizzing skills. It forms a platform for the buffs as well as the aspirants to participate and showcase their talent at various inter-collegiate and open competitions.

 

 

 

 

 

COMPETE TO WIN AND LEARN TO LOSE GRACEFULLY

Every house, therefore, is captained by a House Leader and a House in-charge on a rotational basis. While they learn to accept and shoulder responsibility, it helps them build confidence and enable them assume greater responsibility and thus prepares them for their future roles.
